My name is Shean and I am an registered Occupational Therapist with HCPC and a fully qualified and BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. I am also a qualified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) practitioner.

I am currently able to offer remote therapy via Zoom on a Monday afternoon and during the day on a Tuesday or face to face therapy on a Monday morning in one of our beautiful therapy rooms.

I have extensive experience of working as a CBT Therapist and Occupational Therapist in a variety of adult mental health settings within the NHS, including psychiatry, drugs and alcohol services and IAPT. With regards to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy my experience is working with adults aged 16 and over with common mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, low self esteem, trauma, BDD, phobias and obsessive compulsive disorder. I have also worked as an Occupational Therapist with clients under 16 years and I am able to offer this as a therapy option to younger clients. I currently work in private practice, trading as The Little Serenity Company and work as an Associate Therapist for Wellbeing Therapy Solutions.

With regards to EMDR, this is an evidence based treatment for trauma that helps a client to process and recover from past experiences that might be affecting their psychological wellbeing. Trauma can be any event that has had a negative impact on a client, whether that is a little ‘t’ or big ‘T’ trauma. Events might be a road traffic accident, non life threatening injury, bullying or harassment, death of a much loved pet or loss of a significant relationship or childhood abuse.

I love working with clients to help improve their psychological wellbeing and independence and feel passionately that whether a client requests CBT or Occupational Therapy, I can offer a supportive environment, that is client centred, collaborative, holistic, flexible and compassionate to enable you to improve your wellbeing by making meaningful changes and to achieve your goals

Continuing professional development is an integral part of my clinical practice and I regularly attend workshops and short courses to keep my practice updated and evidence based.

Wellbeing Therapy Solutions provides a holistic approach to working with all clients, which is really important to me and my practise, so I am proud to be an Associate of the company. My approach to treatment is very aligned with the vision of WTS, putting clients at the centre of treatment to support them in achieving their goals.

In the past few years I also founded a business with my husband, Darren, which we run together.

In my spare time I enjoy socialising with friends, going on holidays and spending time with the family and our dogs and going to the gym.
